We live in a perverse world. Of that, each one of us becomes aware at one point or another. But that should only happen when we grow up, when we face the world with our eyes open and when we really understand what’s going on. It is, after all an irony, because the one thing most of us want as children or teenagers is to become old enough to have the power to decide for ourselves.
But it gets much more difficult to cope with when children are introduced to the ruff parts of life too soon and too abruptly. How can you tell your kid that you cannot afford taking him to an optician for a medical exam? That he has to struggle with seeing what’s written on a billboard or simply guess who’s calling him on the playground?
A thoughtful organization who has done a lot of pioneering work with reaching out to children from modest backgrounds and help them enjoy every moment that counts, continues its quest to help children who have vision disabilities and make sure they enjoy their childhood as much as possible.
Some children who do not have access to affordable vision care are now assisted by The Fresh Air Fund to get a free eye exam while they attend their outstanding summer camps. Thousands of children have had their eyes examined with the help of The Fresh Air and One Sight Foundation. These organizations are doing the best they can to help children all over America enjoy one of the most precious and entertaining times of their lives.

If more organizations would work so diligently towards the same goals maybe the world would be a better place.
